The activity feed is your project's communication hub. It combines real-time messaging, threaded discussions, reactions, and AI assistance in a panel on the right side of the project view.
Posting messages
Type in the input field at the bottom of the Chat panel and press Enter to send. Your message appears with your avatar, name, and timestamp. The placeholder shows "Message team or @exa" when in the main feed.
Mentions
Type @ to mention someone. A dropdown shows matching team members, collaborators, and Exa (the AI assistant). Select a person to notify them and highlight their name in your message. Hover over any mention to see a card with their name and role.
Mention | Purpose |
@name | Notify a specific person |
@exa | Ask the AI assistant for help |
@channel | Notify everyone with project access |
When you mention @exa, the AI responds in the same thread with relevant information about your project.
Threads
Threads keep related conversations organized under a parent message. Click the reply count (e.g., "2 replies") or hover over a message and click the reply button to open a thread. The header changes to Thread with a back arrow to return to the main feed.
Thread participant avatars appear stacked next to the reply count, showing who has contributed. The input placeholder changes based on context: "Reply to Exa..." when the thread contains AI responses, or "Reply or @exa" otherwise.
Reactions
Hover over any message to reveal the reaction toolbar. Three quick reactions are available: checkmark ("Completed"), eyes ("Taking a look..."), and raised hands ("Nicely done"). Click the emoji picker button to choose any emoji as a reaction.
Reactions display below the message with a count. Hover over a reaction to see who added it. Click an existing reaction to toggle yours on or off. Your reactions appear with a blue highlight.
Pinned messages
Messages can be pinned to specific locations on your canvas. Pinned messages show a blue Pin badge with a number. Click the badge to navigate directly to that location. Use threads on pinned messages to discuss specific areas of your project.
Editing and deleting
Hover over your own message and click the three-dot menu to edit or delete it. Editing transforms the message into an editable field. Deleting shows a confirmation dialog. Project editors can delete any message; authors can always edit their own.
