Setting up your account

A guided walkthrough of the onboarding steps that create your team and tailor Exayard the first time you sign in.

Written by Sarah Chen

The first time you sign in, Exayard opens a short guided setup that creates your company and sets the basics. It appears automatically when you have no company yet, or when your company still needs setup. Your answers about trades, location and plan shape your workspace, so it is worth a minute.

Each step has a Back and Continue button. You can change anything later in settings.

Company

The first question is What is your company called? Enter your Company name to continue. You can change it later in settings.

Your logo, brand color, measurement system and currency are not asked here. An admin can set all of them in organization settings. See measurement preferences for how the measurement system affects takeoffs and reports.

Trades

Pick the trades you work in. The screen asks What type of work do you do? Select all that apply. Choosing at least one trade is required to continue, and your selection tailors starter packs and tools to your work.

Location

The screen asks Where is most of your work? Exayard suggests a place and shows it on a map, with the currency it will use. This sets which published cost book prices your line items.

  • Click Yes, that's right to keep the suggestion.

  • Click No, change it to enter a Location (a city, region or country) and a Currency, or click Use my location. Then click Save.

If there is no published cost book for your country yet, Exayard tells you so. Line items stay unpriced until one is added.

Your price list

Admins can also upload their own price list on this step. Click Upload beside Upload your price list and choose an XLSX, CSV or PDF file. Check how its columns were read, confirm the prices are yours to use, then click Import.

Your line items are priced from your own prices first. The list is matched in the background, so you can click Continue straight away. This is optional, and you can add price lists later in settings.

Invite your team

Add teammates by email so they're invited the moment setup finishes. This step is optional. Enter each email address on its own row; press Enter to add another. See team invitations to manage members later.

Choose your plan

Select a plan to finish setting up your team. The plans are Starter, Professional and Enterprise. Picking a paid plan opens secure checkout; once payment completes, you return to setup. See subscription plans for what each plan includes.

If you are not an admin, you see Waiting for a plan until an admin of your company chooses one.

You're all set

The final screen confirms your company is ready. Click Let’s go to save your answers and any invitations, then enter your workspace.

From here, create your first project and upload your plans. To revisit any choice, open organization settings.
