Exayard is a takeoff and estimation platform for construction professionals. Upload plans, measure elements like pipes, fixtures, or landscaping areas, and generate reports from your measurements.

Measurement types

Every takeoff uses one of three measurement types. Area measurements capture surfaces like lawns, flooring, or roofing sections. Linear measurements track lengths such as conduit runs, fencing, or pipe footage. Count measurements tally individual items like outlets, trees, or light fixtures.

Measurements display with color-coded markers on the canvas, making it easy to see what you have measured and what remains. You can organize measurements into folders, toggle their visibility, and filter by type.

Templates and starter packs

Templates let you save reusable measurement configurations with a name, color, type, and associated line items. Instead of setting up the same measurement from scratch each project, apply a template in one click.

Starter packs provide pre-built template collections for common trades like landscaping, electrical, and plumbing. Install a starter pack to get a full set of measurement templates with associated line items ready to go.

Scale calibration

Accurate measurements require a calibrated scale. When you upload plans, Exayard scans for scale notations like "1/4 inch = 1 foot" and applies them automatically. You can also select from preset scales in imperial or metric units, enter a custom ratio, or draw a known distance on the plan to set the scale manually.

Aerial imagery captured from within Exayard includes GPS-based scale calibration, so outdoor site surveys are accurate without additional setup. Each page in your project can have its own scale setting.

AI assistant and collaboration

Projects support real-time collaboration. Team members can view the same project simultaneously and see each other's cursors on the canvas. Click a collaborator's avatar in the header to follow their view.

The Chat drawer in the project sidebar provides team discussions and an AI assistant you can mention with @exa to ask questions about your plans or get help with the platform.

Custom properties

Organizations can define custom properties on projects and products to track additional data specific to your workflow. Custom properties appear in the new project dialog and product forms, letting you capture fields like job number, client name, or region alongside standard fields.

Who uses Exayard

Construction professionals across trades use Exayard for takeoffs and estimation. Landscapers measure lawn areas and count plants. Electrical contractors tally outlets and measure conduit runs. Plumbers calculate pipe footage and count fittings. General contractors coordinate multiple trades and prepare comprehensive bids.

Getting started

To begin, create a project and upload your construction plans. The platform guides you through scale calibration before you start measuring. Explore the interface guide for a tour of the workspace, or jump into creating your first project.
