Notification settings control how and when Exayard alerts you about activity. You can enable multiple notification channels and configure which events trigger alerts. These preferences are saved per organization, so you can have different settings for different teams.

Accessing notification settings

Click your avatar in the top-right corner, select Settings, then click Notifications in the sidebar.

Notification channels

Exayard supports three independent notification channels you can toggle on or off.

Channel

Description

In-app notifications

Alerts appear in the notification center in the app header. A bell icon shows your unread count.

Browser notifications

Desktop alerts appear even when Exayard runs in a background tab. Requires browser permission.

Email notifications

Receive email when you are mentioned. Sent after a 1-minute delay to batch rapid events.

To enable browser notifications, click the Enable button and allow notifications when your browser prompts. If browser notifications show as "Blocked by browser," you need to update your browser's site permissions for Exayard.

Notification types

Configure specific behaviors for different types of events.

When someone mentions you (@username): Direct mentions notify you when a teammate tags your username in a comment. You can enable both email and browser notifications for these mentions.

When someone mentions @channel: Channel mentions alert everyone in a project at once. These only support browser notifications by design to prevent inbox overload from broadcast messages.

Individual notification type toggles only work when their parent channel is enabled. For example, the "send email notification" toggle for @username mentions requires Email notifications to be turned on.

How preferences work

Channel toggles are primary controls. If you disable Email notifications, all email-based notification types turn off automatically. Changes take effect immediately.
