Inside a project, Exayard has three parts. A column of icons runs down the left edge. The chat runs the full height beside it. The project page fills the rest, and an open sheet or report takes its place. Understanding this layout helps you work efficiently from your first project.

The column of icons on the left edge is the same on every screen. Home and Search sit at the top, followed by Templates and Knowledge. Your picture at the foot opens the Account menu.

The Account menu switches organizations and holds Settings, Usage, Invite teammates, theme switching, and Help. Help opens the help center, the support chat, and Shortcuts.

The chat sits to the left of the project. Drag the divider between the chat and the project to resize it.

The chat has two tabs: Exa and Team. Message teammates in Team, or mention @exa in any tab to ask the AI about your plans or get help with the platform. Messages can be pinned to a spot on your plans. Click a pinned message to jump to that spot on the sheet.

The project page shows the project's name, the people viewing it, Share project, and the bid status at the top. Below them are sections for anything that needs you, your bid, reports, chats, and last your sheets and files. See The project page for each section.

Click a sheet on the project page to open it. The bar above the sheet starts with the project's name, which takes you back to the project page. Arrows beside the sheet's name move to the previous and next sheet, and the scale button sits at the right end.

The takeoff list sits beside the open sheet. It holds your takeoffs and templates. Click any measurement to highlight it on the sheet and zoom to its location. Eye icons toggle visibility for individual measurements or entire folders. Filter by Area, Linear, or Count, or focus on one layer.

The sheet displays your construction plan at the current scale. Measurements appear as colored overlays on top of the plan. Pan by clicking and dragging with the hand tool, or scroll the mouse wheel to move the plan. To zoom, hold Ctrl while you scroll, or pinch on a trackpad.

A single toolbar sits centered along the bottom of the sheet. It combines the zoom controls and your drawing tools. Click + to zoom in, - to zoom out, or the Fit to screen button to see the entire page. The Settings button (gear icon) opens a popover with canvas preferences including Grid, Snap to grid, Crosshair, and Minimap toggles, plus a Default unit selector for feet or meters.

The same bottom toolbar holds your primary drawing tools: Area, Linear, and Count measurements, plus a Comment tool. It also includes select, pan, undo, redo, and a More tools menu with extra drawing options.

On a phone, a Chat and Project switch at the top of the screen moves between the chat and the project. The Menu button at the top left opens the column of icons. On an open sheet, the Items button opens the takeoff list.

Press V for the select tool and H for the hand tool. Ctrl+Z undoes the last action and Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes. Hold Space while using any tool for temporary pan mode. Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac) to search. Open Help in the Account menu and click Shortcuts to see all available keyboard shortcuts.
